Team Leader - Steve Murphy
Steve Murphy has had more than 30 years in Senior Management experience first with the prestigious Munich Reinsurance Group, then with the world's 4th largest reinsurance Company, Hanover Re, where he was Chief Executive of its African subsidiary for over 18 years.
His business experience extends from the entrepreneurial activity of starting a business with a partner through to the corporate world and the strategic leadership functions of a group of over 250 staff involving some 30 different business.
Steve's key strengths lie in providing inspirational leadership, motivating and developing teams; developing turn-around strategies, and creating a sense of vision and passion within organizations. He was a finalist in his home country's 1999 "Boss of the Year" competition. Hannover RE Africa was twice nominated as a finalist in the "non-listed company of the year" award.
Steve's special areas of interest involve Leadership development; crafting and executing Strategy and building teams. He also enjoys working to turnaround struggling organisations. He is a high energy, charismatic individual who connects easily with his audience. He understands that good training must feed both the mind and touch the heart.
Steve is an accomplished speaker who has first hand and real time experience with business challenges; conflict resolution and the crucial role of leadership in developing and motivating teams. Steve graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. He is also retained as a consultant to businesses in SEA and remains a Director and Chairman of a number of companies.
